Riddim energy judging
Rate how much energy each of 28 songs has, from 1 to 10. It takes about 20–30 minutes. Your progress is saved on this device as you go.
What you're judging: energy
Energy is how intense and driving the song feels. It is not mood, quality, or whether you like it. A sad song can be high energy, and a happy song can be low. A good test: how hard does this song push a room?
- 1–2Very calm, background music. Think solo piano or a soft lullaby.
- 3–4Relaxed. A slow ballad or a gentle groove.
- 5–6Medium. Steady and moving, but not pushing.
- 7–8Upbeat and driving. The kind of song you'd dance to.
- 9–10Full intensity. Fast, loud and aggressive, a peak-of-the-party song.
Rules
- Listen for about 30–60 seconds, then go with your first reaction.
- Judge the song as a whole, not its loudest moment.
- Rate on your own. Don't discuss songs with other judges until everyone is done.
- Use the whole scale. If everything lands between 4 and 7, spread it out.
- If you don't know a song and can't listen, tap Skip / don't know. If you're unsure, add a note.
The songs are in a random order that's unique to you. Each card links to Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music so you can listen.
